More information:

Logo Contest Guidelines Dear Educators, The math faculty of Arizona Western College has been selected to host the 2003 conference of the Arizona Mathematics Association of Two-year Colleges (ArizMATYC). This is a great honor for our college, and so I am writing to ask the Yuma area math students to become involved in making this conference a success. Please ask and encourage your students to participate in the logo contest to create a meaningful logo for this conference. The logo that best suits our conference theme will be printed on all conference-related publications and materials. In addition, all logo contest entries will be on display at the conference hotel. The conference theme is "The future of technology in the mathematics classroom." Please help your students understand the following guidelines: 1. Schools may submit as many designs as they wish. 2. Designs may be developed electronically or by hand. 3. Please use a square or circular design that will fit into a 6" by 6" area. Because colors will not reproduce well on conference materials, black and white designs are preferred. 4. Once submitted, the design becomes the property of the Arizona Western College Math Department. 5. A panel of mathematics faculty and graphic artists will judge entries after March 15th. 6. Winners will be announced during Math Month (April 2002) on KAWC radio, KSWT TV-13, the Yuma Sun newspaper, and the AWC Math Department web site. 7. The first place winner will receive $150.00, second place winner will receive $100.00, and third place winner will receive $50.00. All submitted entries will be on display at the conference site. Please complete the registration form and submit all contest entries by March 15th so that your students can participate in this event. You can learn more about the contest by visiting our website: http//www.awc.cc.az.us/math/logo. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you, and good luck to your students!
