The 17th annual UHV/VC Math & Computer Science Awareness Day celebration will take place on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the University of Houston-Victoria and Victoria College Campuses. The day will include math and computer science contests, robotics demonstrations, and a game show dealing with math and computer science. Participants may choose to compete in up to two out of three competitions in Mathematics, Computer Science, and/or Game Show tracks. All contestants must be a member of a team of up to four students. Teams will be evaluated based on their performance in each competition track, and top teams will be awarded in the ceremony with trophies, scholarships, and robots. The first 76 registered for the competitions will receive computer bags. We are pleased to follow the tradition of presenting the team and individual contestants who win first, second, and third places in our competitions with lucrative awards. Alcoa Foundation is our industry partner which provided the funding for this event and the competition awards. For the first time in the history of the Math and Computer Science Day, the awards are presented in the form of UHV scholarships and robotic kits, VC scholarships or cash awards to be used at the college or university of the winner's choice.
