In honor of Mathematics Awareness Month, the University of Utah Mathematics Department will host a public lecture on Wednesday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in room 210 of the Skaggs Biology Building. Professor James P. Keener will be presenting a talk titled "Heart Attacks Can Give You Mathematics".

Mathematics Awareness Month is sponsored each year by the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics to recognize the importance of mathematics through written materials and an accompanying poster that highlight mathematical developments and applications in a particular area.
