Math Awareness Day at North Carolina A&T State University will take place April 6, 2000. In the morning, graduate and some undergraduate students will present papers on their research. Graduate students from Wake Forest Univeristy will participate as well. Student sessions will be from 8-10:30 a.m. Our invited speaker, Professor Karen Norwood (North Carolina State University), will give a talk from 11am-12n entitled: Taking Anxiety out of Mathematics Anxiety. After lunch in the faculty cafeteria, the afternoon sessions will focus on undergraduate students. There will be a session on engineering student presentations, as well as a differentiation and integration contest, which usually attracts 70+ students. The day will end with the award ceremony where certificates and prizes will be awarded for the contest winners and for the best student presentation. Brooks/Cole Publishing Company will present a book exhibit that will be open all day. The event is organized for the fifth consecutive year by Alexandra Kurepa. This year it is sponsored, in part, by the A&T Cluster Grant.
